Hmm...not sure why but I have found it very difficult to take a good picture of a chocolate cupcake. I think the lighting has to be just right. Nevertheless, this cupcake does not look pretty at all. I mean, I can't blame the cupcake. It was the baker and the photographer.
Notice the little bits of chocolate? This is what happens when you don't let the chocolate squares melt all the way. My microwave is out on my porch and it is very difficult to see at night. You can see that I tried to make the cupcake prettier with little Japanese cookies? I know, does not help much. Also, for some reason the frosting was as light as air? Maybe I whipped it too much.
The good news is that they were all ate within minutes. The flavor was killer but the looks? Oh well, maybe next time!
I want my cupcakes to be unbelievably desirable and beautiful. I love looking at pictures of cupcakes on flickr and those belonging to my creative friends on swap-bot. I think to myself that I can do that too! This attempt however is lacking, just a bit. I think the frosting was too thin and the sprinkles, well, too small to be effective. It did not affect the taste, of course. They lasted about two hours in my household before they were all gone.
It still looks tasty though! I bet if you had taken the picture from a different angle, you'd have gotten... read more
